UK Visa Applicants from Angola, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo may be barred from entering the UK.

British Home secretary Mahmood has threatened to stop granting visas to people from three African countries - Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Namibia - unless those governments improved co-operation on deportations.

The UK government has announced significant new measures aimed at strengthening immigration control, including a possible visa bans on specific countries that do not cooperate with the return of migrants who have no legal right to remain in the UK.

According to today’s statement by Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, individuals from Angola, Namibia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo may be barred from entering the UK if their governments fail to improve cooperation on returning people deemed not to have a right to stay.

This announcement forms part of a wider reform package which also includes:

  • Making refugee status temporary.

  • Introducing a 20-year waiting period before a refugee can apply for permanent settlement.

  • Stricter enforcement against those entering the UK without authorisation.

As Mahmood stated: “In Britain, we play by the rules… When I said there would be penalties for countries that do not take back criminals and illegal immigrants, I meant it.”

The UK is becoming stricter with illegal migration — but genuine visitors are still welcome.

If you are travelling for tourism, family visits, business, or special events, the new rules do not target you. They target illegal migration and non-cooperation by foreign governments.

The best thing you can do as a genuine visitor is ensure your application is strong, truthful, and fully compliant with UK immigration law.

And that’s exactly what we help you with at ASKVisas.
