On 15 July 2025, the UK Government introduced eVisas for visitors.
An eVisa is a digital record of your immigration status, linked to your passport. There is no visa sticker.
In practice:
- You don’t need to collect your passport from the visa centre after a decision is made.
- If your passport is replaced, you update your eVisa online.
- You still travel with your passport; the eVisa is checked electronically on arrival.
This is part of the UK’s move towards a fully digital immigration system.
